Unit 5 Project

Unit 5

We need to practice our psychospiritual body to remain and continue to grow our minds.  This is also true for athletes, musicians or any other thing that you need to build on your skills.  This is also true for our mind.  We begin to develop this when we are in utero.  This process does not stop at all during our lives.  Our minds are constantly changing and growing with the knowledge that we learn on a daily basis.

I didn't feel that either exercise that we needed to listen to on the CD really helped.  The pauses within the exercise were distracting and the I found my mind wandering on both exercises.  I guess I feel that the soothing voice and talking needed to be constant or I could not place the background noise in my house aside to really focus on the exercise.

Unit 4

This exercise I felt was very difficult for me at first.  I was not following what was expected of me.  I listened to it a second time and felt how the exercise was working.  I was able to open my mind and begin to become in touch with my feelings and how I felt about the person I was asked to connect with.  This helped because I chose my fiance and we had just gotten into an argument.  Our relationship is very difficult because he is an over the road truck driver and our time together is not a lot.  This exercise let me open my heart and feel the problems that we have been having and see a new way of dealing with them.  I would recommend this exercise to any couple that is having problems.  It helps with seeing the problem and being open minded enough to see the other person's point of view and find a resolution to the problem that can work for both parties.
The mental workout for me just explained what the exercise was about and what is was trying to lead you into.  We all have problems and feelings that need to be addressed and we don't always know how to deal with them.  The research has shown that if this exercise is done at least once a day to a couple of times a week you will find an inner peace and the ability to mend problems within your life with a purpose.  We need to see others and their needs besides ourselves and what we tend to focus on.  We all have problems within our lives that we tend to focus on just ourselves and we tend not to see the person within the problem and they are effected by it.  With the mental workout we begin to see others and the entire puzzle of problems.

Unit 3

For my physcial well being I feel I rate a 5.  For my spiritual well being I feel I also rate a 5.  For my psychological well being I feel I also rate a 5.  The reason I have rated myself a 5 on everything is that I feel that we all have room to improve on everything in our lives.  We can never rate ourselves to be a 10 because we are not perfect and at least I never feel we will be perfect.
A goal that I can set for myself for physical would be to take better care of myself.  I would like to lose weight and be in better shape physically which lead to being a being in better psychological shape as well.  When you feel better about yourself your psychological wellness increases.  For my spiritual well being I would like to make more time for myself to reflect on what I need to improve for myself an to improve my family.  I will begin to give myself at least one hour a week to do this for myself.
What I can do to help attain these goals is to begin an exercise routine after work at least 4 days a week.  This will be taking my dogs for a walk after work with my son.  For psycholigical wellness, I feel when I begin to lose weight and feel better not only about myself but physcially feel better, this will improve my psychological wellness.  For spiritual wellness I will set aside 1 hour on Sundays to reflect on my week and begin to improve on what I feel can be improved.
I love these relaxation techniques that we listen to.  His voice is so soothing the music could put me to sleep.  I did this exercise after work and could really feel my body relax and become even more relaxed as the exercise went on.  I was able to tune out all of the background noise in my house and it was wonderful.  I tried to get my son to do this as well, he was not a receptive as I was though.

Unit 2

It was a very interesting journey with the exercise.  At first I was skeptical about trying the technique.  Then I began to just sit back and take it all in.  When asked to think about moving the blood to my arms and hands I felt they were getting warm and heavy and thought it was not working.  Then to my amazment, that was what was supposed to happen.  I quickly called my parents and wanted them to try it as well.  I wanted to share this method with everyone I knew.  I have never felt so relaxed as when I finished this exercise.
