Unit 6

I did not find that the exercise on universal loving kindness worked.  First, I did not know what the exercise was trying to accomplish.  Second, I did not know what I was doing at first.
I completed the exercise on the integral assessment.  I found that I need to improve my communication skills with loved one's.  I have a tendency to keep things from them that may stress them and deal with these situations on my own.  This actually increases my stress load and becomes a problem within myself and my relationship with my loves one's.  It affects my relationship because I become very short with my anger and attitude and patience.  I learned that when I share my stressload with others I feel better and the situations are taken care of faster and with ease.

  1. Tammy,
It is good that you can pinpoint the area that you need to focus one. Keeping your emotions to yourself is bound to frustrate you and your loved one's. Just knowing sometimes where the other person is coming from helps diffuse the situation. I myself am much better about telling people what I want and expect from them. I wish you the best of Luck!

  2. I agree that keeping emotions to yourself can be a recipe for disaster. Often times when we finally hit the boiling point and explode the person we let it out on looks at us like we are crazy. It seems to them you are exploding over something very small when in reality it is because you have held it all in. I always tell my husband I would rather deal with it when it is happening rather than have a big blow out which can be so much more stressful.
